24th August update

The floor is finished upstairs.
Except for the A/C unit, varnish on the balustrades and some cleaning, this part is complete.

Downstairs, there is some more work to be done in the kitchen
(splashback panels missing). Then it's time to clean the concrete
and seal it.

Free artwork on the blue wall, thanks to the sun!
And talking about artwork, our resident Artist has created
a masterpiece in the entrance! One more coat of sealer and Voila!

The entrance foyer looks interesting. May I ask what the flooring is?

Casa,
thanks for the question, and apologies for the delay in answering back.
We have actually moved in 2 weeks ago, and between the move, work, cleaning etc... not much time for the blog...
The floor downstairs is polished concrete right thru. It has been polished with the "helicopter", straight after the pour.
The other option (grinding to make the aggregates appear) was too costly for us.
My wife did the painting in the air lock (foyer), just before the 2 coats of sealant were applied.
Cheers.

Great construction blog. At House builders in Torquay, South Devon and The South West we would be pleased to be associated with such a high standard of work.
